- A Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) or its equivalent from a recognized University/College/Institution in India.
- Conversion Certificates recognized by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) in case of candidates having foreign University Degrees.
- Valid Registration Certificate from Odisha Veterinary Practitioner Act,1970.

Candidates applying for the OPSC Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Recruitment 2023 are required to go through the OPSC Veterinary Assistant Surgeon selection process which consists of a Written Test.
