Indian Air Force (IAF) is going to fill up 258 vacancies for Flying, Ground Duty (Tech), and Ground Duty(Non-Tech) for the men and women categories. Detailed information on airforce recruitment is as under:

Type Of Commission

Type Of Commissions in Indian Air Force

  • SSC for Men and Women
    • The engagement period of the flying branch SSC officers is 14 years from the date of commissioning.
    • The initial tenure for SSC officers in Ground Duty (Tech and Non-Technical) branches would be 10 years. An extension of 04 years may be granted subject to service requirements, availability of vacancies, willingness, suitability, and merit.
    • Grant of Permanent Commission at a later date would be considered subject to service requirements, availability of vacancies, willingness, suitability, and merit and as per prevailing policies on the subject.
    • SSC officers are not entitled to a grant of pension.

Age Limit for Tech and Non-Tech Posts

a) Flying Branch – 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2024.

b) Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches – 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2024.

Training Period in Indian Air Force

As per the notification, training will be started with effect from January 2024 for all courses at Air Force Academy Dundigal (Hyderabad). The duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) is 74 weeks and for Ground Duty (Non-Technical) branches are 54 weeks.

Pay of IAF Officers

Indian Air Force offers you pay on commissioning as per the 7th CPC is as under

Flying Officer – Rs.56100-177500-Level-10-MSP-Rs.15500/-. In addition, to pay, allowances are allowed based on the nature of duty and place of posting. Note-flight cadets will receive a fixed stipend of Rs.56,100/- per month during one year of training.

Examination Process

Online tests for AFCAT will be carried out at various centers of the Air Force. Candidates registering for AFCAT will pay Rs,250/- (non-refundable) as an examination fee.

Marital Status

Candidates must be unmarried at the time of course and marriage is not permitted during training.

Physical Test for Air Force Recruitment 2023

Candidates are required to be physically fit when they report for joining physical tests. He/She has to undergo and qualify for 1.6 Km in 10 minutes and do 10 Push-ups and 03 chin-ups.

Candidates are also to note that during the training period, they have to adapt to physical training at IAF such as running, swimming, rope climbing, and other forms of physical training.
